St Edmund's School Canterbury

St Edmund's School Canterbury

More than a School... providing an excellent all-round education...

Inspiring Excellence
St Edmund’s provides an excellent all-round education for girls and boys aged 3-18 in the historic Cathedral city setting of Canterbury. This day and boarding school attracts talented pupils from wide ranging backgrounds, and is proud to educate the Choristers of Canterbury Cathedral. January 2018 sees the opening of the first phase of the new Academic Hub - a development in response to curriculum demands and the school’s success with pupil numbers being the highest ever.

Vital Early Years
St Edmund’s Pre-Prep staff work closely with parents to create a secure and happy family atmosphere where young children aged 3-7 can develop, flourish and enjoy their education.

Nurturing Talents
Recognising the premium parents place on the education of their children, the Junior School aims to provide a happy and positive experience of childhood and a rich all-round education that inspires academic achievement.

Aiming High
It is important to us that our pupils are happy and productive during their time with us, working hard, being challenged both within the classroom and beyond it, and also beginning to prepare for the Sixth Form and for the wider world beyond that of school.

Personal Achievement
St Edmund’s Sixth Form provides opportunities for pupils to excel in and to enjoy the academic, sporting, musical, artistic and dramatic aspects of life, to take part in expeditions and enrichment activities, and to explore the potential for leadership and responsibility.

Location
St Edmund’s School benefits from good road and rail links from Canterbury to the surrounding areas and London. The high speed rail link to London St Pancras station offers a journey time of 55 minutes. The school operates a transport service on selected routes across Kent for day pupils and is introducing a service for weekly boarders to/from London.
